LaRue Candle Co. — Heirloom Vessel Shipping & Insurance Policy
Shipping your vessel to us. You are solely responsible for your vessel until it arrives at our studio. This includes choosing how it's packaged, how it's shipped, and whether to purchase shipping insurance through your carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.). LaRue Candle Co. does not insure, and is not liable for, any loss, breakage, or damage that occurs before your vessel is received at our studio. We strongly recommend packing it carefully and purchasing carrier insurance for its full value — we're glad to share packing tips on request, but the choice and cost are yours.
Once your vessel reaches us. From the moment your vessel is received at our studio through the day it ships back to you, it is covered under our optional Heirloom Insurance ($20) if you've selected that add-on. This covers accidental breakage or loss while it is in our care — being handled, cleaned, poured, and packaged — and during the return shipment back to you.
If Heirloom Insurance was not selected and your vessel is damaged or lost while in our care or in return transit, LaRue Candle Co.'s liability is limited to a refund of the amount paid for that order (excluding any non-refundable shipping costs), unless otherwise required by law.
What happens if the unthinkable happens. If an insured vessel is broken or lost while in our care or in return transit, we will work with you directly — where possible, remaining glass or material may be made into a piece of jewelry as described on our Heirloom page, at no additional charge. Where that isn't possible, we will refund the amount paid for that order.
A note on irreplaceable items. We understand these vessels can't be replaced, and we treat every one that reaches us with real care. This policy exists so both of us are clear on where responsibility sits at each step — before it reaches us, and after.
